Making a difference where we live and work
Giving back moves us all forward
The Hopewell Residential team has a passionate, energetic and empowering corporate culture based on mutual respect. It’s this refreshingly positive environment that encourages excellence and integrity at all levels – not only on the job, but also in the community.
As Winston Churchill once said, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."

Some of the Hopewell Residential team’s most recent charitable initiatives include:Samaritan’s Purse
Hopewell Day takes place every November 11th, and sees the entire Hopewell Group of Companies come together to engage with each other and donate time and effort to a not-for-profit organization. This year the organization of choice was Samaritan’s Purse, which provides compassionate and cost-effective assistance to those who need it. The Hopewell Group worked together organizing and building disaster relief packages, which are used in Samaritan’s Purse emergency relief program. The 3,500 boxes prepared by Hopewell were immediately shipped to the Philippines to aid those affected by Typhoon Haiyan which struck on November 7th, 2013.
This year, proceeds of our work with Samaritan’s Purse, over 5,000 hygiene kits, will be shipped off to the Ukraine to assist those displaced and without basic necessities due to the growing violent situation in the eastern part of the country. Hopewell is thankful for the opportunity to participate in the disaster relief program in such a meaningful and productive way, and honoured to be a part of such a worthy cause.Inn from the Cold – Mahogany Polar Bear Plunge
Hopewell hosted its 5th Annual Polar Bear Plunge into Mahogany Lake in February of 2014 . The event, in support of Inn from the Cold, raised more than $30,000 for this very deserving local charity, bringing the five-year event total to more than $160,000 in donations.
Inn from the Cold provides temporary emergency shelter for homeless families, and offers the programs and services families need to rebuild their lives and create a hopeful future. Hopewell industry partners including Morrison Homes, Volker Stevin, Stepper Homes and Borger have been avid supporters of this unique event.Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta (KCCFA):
Camp Kindle Craft Cabin
By volunteering our time and resources to the Craft Cabin at KCCFA’s Camp Kindle, Hopewell was proud to support an initiative that makes creativity and fun happen at camp for children and families battling childhood cancer.
With our support, KCCFA was able to purchase arts and crafts supplies for the 360 children who attended their cancer camps in the summer, and the 299 children and parents who attended weekend camps through the school year. Hopewell was also able to replace the leaky roof atop the Craft Cabin, and contributed to the year-round operations of the Crafts Cabin by contributing to the gas and electric utilities. The craft cabin provides a quiet activity setting and a place for campers to take a break from other fast-paced activities while enjoying the camping experience.Aspen Family – Food Revolution
Hopewell sponsors the “Food Revolution” at Aspen Family and Community Network Society – a charitable organization that each year helps more than 6,000 families leverage their strengths to address life’s challenges and create hopeful, connected and sustainable livelihoods. The “Food Revolution” initiative strives to eliminate highly processed, high fat and salty foods from Aspen’s programs, supporting its Rundle and Whitehorn group homes and giving Aspen staff and youth the ability to create well-rounded meals.
In 2011, Hopewell also supported Aspen’s Winter Breather program, an endeavour that allows families and clients to honour their own holiday
traditions without worrying about how they are going to pay their utilities
or feed their families.
